Abstract

204,084. British L. M. Ericsson Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Crowe, W. M. May 17, 1922. Automatic, semi-automatic, and manual exchange systems.-To prevent an accidental clearing signal or release of the automatic switches when the microphone is in a horizontal position, the rise of the switch-hook at the substation is arranged to connect one or more coils of the ringer across the microphone, or a port of the speaking circuit including the microphone, or to short-circuit the condenser in series with the ringer. Fig. 2 shows an automatic substation in which the switch-hook S' on rising connects the bell B across the microphone M and receiver R. Specification 10602/06 is referred to.
