Abstract
203,517. Rees, H. P. P., (known as Rees, H. P.). June 1, 1923. Crystal detectors of cartridge type comprise two crystals arranged loosely in a tube of glass &c. and adapted to be pressed into engagement by two axially movable conducting heads one of which is spring pressed. Preferably the top of one of the standards supporting the cartridge is removable. As shown, Fig. 3, crystals a, b in a tube p are adjustably pressed into contact by heads c, d, which fit the tube p so as to prevent dust reaching the crystals. The upper portion g of one of the supports is fixed to the lower part q by means of a screw s as shown in Fig. 2, so as to allow of removal of the tube p. The heads c, d are scored as shown to prevent the crystals from slipping.
