Solidifying and then removing films. - In machines of the rotary cylinder type for freezing ice-cream, a hopper a for the reception of the cream mixture is slidably arranged on pillars j attached to the frame i<1> and rests directly by gravity upon the cylinder b. The hopper has an open bottom and the front c and the ends d thereof are adapted to make a close fit with the circumference of the cylinder, while the rear side f is adjustable or carries a plate g that can be adjusted to vary the thickness of the cream layer to be frozen. As shown, the plate g is provided with lugs which receive the reduced ends of screws i that pass through tapped holes in lugs on the side f and the plate g is adapted to slide in guides on the side f. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 10404/99, [Class 32, Distilling &c.], and 29831/10.
