Abstract
202,869. Bellow, E. A. Sept. 30, 1922. Ash-trays. - An ashtray, coin receptacle, &c. a for resting on the arm of a chair &c. is attached to ribbons, bands, or cords b carrying one or more pairs of counterbalanced weights e. The receptacle may be detachably secured, as bv a press-button and socket c, c<1>, or may be attached by glue &c. Alternatively, the weights may be suspended by cords passing through holes in the sides of the receptacle a and knotted internally. The receptacle a may be of aluminium, silver, copper, brass, electro-plate, china, earthenware, wood, papier-mÔchÚ, &c., and the bands b may be of velvet, suede leather, rubber, &c. The weights e may be rectangular leaden plates secured in closed pockets formed by patches b<1>, or they may consist of convex leaden discs covered with fabric formed with flat open wire loops through which the extremities of the band are passed.
