Abstract

202,792. Juett, D. E. June 24, 1922. Bathing-appliances; buoys.- A bathing-appliance consists of a frame comprising members a, b suspended from two inflated floats e and propellers p driven by nuts j which are drawn along screwed shafts g by cords l. Springs k return the nuts to their normal position. The propellers are connected to their shafts by helical springs o which act as clutches, transmitting rotation in one direction only. The swimmer sits on a canvas seat d and extends the cords l by his feet which engage a pedal n. An awning r may be provided. A rope q is provided on each float for lifesaving purposes. According to the Provisional Specification, a single propeller is mounted on the rear member b and is driven by a pedal through a cord and ratchet arrangement, a back-rest is provided and the seat d is suspended from the members o. The back-rest may be filled with kapok or the like so as to support the device on deflation of the floats e.
