Abstract

The instrument has a 'U-shape' where the arc forms the active edge A and the ends are elongated to form two symmetrically centred handles B. A flexible strip form consists of a plastic strip which tapers to the centre and by this virtue enables one to flex it in order to obtain the arc and two handles this type is considered to be a disposable cleaner. In order to form a more commercial and compact package, a renewable strip form of the disposable cleaner is designed to fit into a specially constructed tooth brush handle. The two in one instrument complements the cleansing process of the mouth. It is important that these apparatus be designed with safety in mind. They shouldn't be sharp or have corners, they would be plyable with a degree of resiliance and not be heavy. The handles be thin so that it would be manipulated with the fingers rather than be used with the weight of the hand. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION The tongue cleaner I have come to the conclusion through experiance and observation that it is the sponge like tissues of the tongue that retain some essence of all that is taken in through the mouth that help to cause bad breath, tooth decay, mouth ulcers, and a general lack of confidence when it comes to close contact with people.

The various designs are shown on drawings No 1, 2and3.

Drawing No 1 shows a standard 'U' shape, for this shape the material would be predominently silver. I find this material to be very complimentary to the user, as it will through use, ware to the shape and pressure of the user. Other materials would be stainless steel and thermo plastic.

Drawing No 2 shows in Fig 1 and 2 the strip form for more commercial use, the material would be thermo-plastic. Fig 3 shows the same concept as on drawing 1 but for the use with one hand, and can incorporate a spoon shape, materials silver, stainless steel orthermo plastic.

Drawing No 3 shows the most commercial aspect where the tongue cleaner is incorporated with a brush. Fig 2 fits into Fig 1 and compliments the cleaning process of the mouth.

Claims

CLAIMS 1. The tongue cleaner 1.a. The U-shaped tongue cleaner instrument used to remove substance trapped in the porus upper surface of the tongue.

1.b. An arc formed from a plyablestrip having a smooth edge with the ends lengthened to form two handles giving the instrument a U shape.

2. The disposable strip tongue cleaner.

2.a. A flat thin, flexible, resiliantstrip istapered to the centre from both end allowing it to be manipulated into an arc and two handles.

3. The compact cleaner consisting of a flat thin flexible resiliant strip cleaner mounted into the handle of a tooth brush such that it may slide in and out of the handle. When withdrawn from the handle it will lend it self to be formed into an arc.
