Abstract

A method for processing storage battery lead scrap comprises crushing the scrap, removing large metallic lead parts and organic waste containing chlorine and subjecting the remaining sulphate/oxide scrap and organic casing to grinding prior to smelting in an oxidising atmosphere to form an oxidizing melt to obtain metallic lead.
