Abstract

A process for the preparation of an improved lead chrome pigment which comprises the addition to a slurry of the pigment, after precipitation and ageing of the pigment and before the application of any superficial coating, of a sufficient amount of a water-soluble chromate salt to reduce the concentration of lead dissolved in the slurry to a level not greater than 0.001M.
