Abstract

A wound protecting device comprising an openwork protective cage (3) removably mounted on a frame (1) which is arranged to be placed on the skin of a patient to surround a wound or an area of skin to be protected. The frame has a plurality of slots which receive closed loops of a plurality of securing tabs (6). These tabs have adhesive areas which can adhere to the skin of the patient. In an alternative device, the openwork cage is secured to an adhesive fabric ring. <IMAGE>
