Abstract

A filter has a filter element 1 removably supported on a central tubular support 1. In order to clamp the ends of the element tightly and to produce a good seal, internal and external clamping elements 4 and 5 are provided at each end, which have adjacent edges conforming to on the cross sectional shape of the filter element and which can be urged together e.g. by a peripheral band 7 to clamp the filter element 1 between them. <IMAGE>
