Abstract
Apparatus for use in producing an image of a cross-section through a body comprises: first and second sources (4, 2) of ionizing radiation, for transmitting such radiation through a body (10), first and second detecting means (6, 5) for such radiation which has passed through the body (10), for producing signals dependent upon the absorption of such radiation, each of the detecting means (6, 5) being associated with a respective one of the sources (4, 2), for detecting radiation from that source, drive means (9) which, in use, effects rotation of the sources (4, 2) and detecting means (6, 5) together through a predetermined angle about a body (10), voltage supply means (11), remote from the sources (4, 2) and detecting means (6, 5), for supplying a voltage for the sources (4, 2) in use, and a cable (30), connected between the voltage supply means (11) and the first source (4) for enabling the first source (4) to receive such a voltage in use, and arranged to permit said rotation in use. The second source (10) is connected with the first source (4) to receive such a voltage also. <IMAGE>
