Abstract

An automatic record changer has a rotatable turntable 12, a drive plate 38 concentric with the turntable and rotatable independently thereof, automatic record changing means for successively depositing records onto the turntable during successive record changing cycles, means for rotating the drive plate, a low friction washer 52 positioned between the drive plate and the turntable, the washer normally transmitting a driving force to the turntable from the drive plate, and means for stopping the turntable during a record changing cycle while the drive plate continues to rotate and the washer allows the drive plate to slip with respect to the turntable. <IMAGE>
