Abstract

A mounting device (10) is fixedly secured to a cutter head, e.g. a shearer drum vane (3), and the housing (22) for the pick (24) is releasably secured to the mounting device. This enables the pick housings to be readily removed from the cutter head in the event that one or more of the pick housings becomes damaged during operation of the machine. <IMAGE>
