Abstract

The present invention relates to cephalosporin compounds of the formula: <IMAGE> wherein X is -O- or -S-; R<1> is amino or a substituted amino group; R<2> is carboxy or a protected carboxy group; and the heavy solid line means single or double bond, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof and to processes for the preparation thereof. The compounds of the invention are useful in the treatment of microbial, and particularly fungal infections. Azetidinone starting materials are also prepared.
