Abstract

A foetal monitoring apparatus which has input means (31,32,41,42) which may receive signals representing foetal heart beat, intra-uterine pressure and blood pressure. A visual indicating means (52) is capable of being set to give either digital or graphical indication of the physical phenomena. The digital or graphical indication is given by a dot display on paper tape (16 Figure 2) and diagnostic data is entered on the tape (16) by manual operation of marker buttons (blocks 51). Heart beat rates are obtained by counting the number of consecutive beats over a time interval nearest to a predetermined time and converting that number into beats per minute. <IMAGE>
