Abstract

An electronic telephone including means for generating digital codes eg keypad and CMOS logic, and means for applying the codes to a telephone line using disconnect loop signaling e.g. solid state isolating switch, includes capacitor means arranged to store electrical power from the telephone line and provide a power supply for the means for generating digital codes and the means to apply them to the telephone line. Preferably, the means for generating the digital codes includes a keyboard having at least ten keys, the subscriber selecting a number to be called by depressing one, or more than one of the keys in succession. <IMAGE>
