Abstract

A force-flow ventilator unit for fitting to a cabin, for example externally of a roof panel (1) of the cab of a dumper truck, comprises a casing (3) with an inlet aperture within which is fitted a coarse first-stage filter (6) of woven metal form and an outlet aperture (9) formed in a baseplate (7) bolted to the panel (1). A self-supporting polypropylene filter bag (10) housed within the casing provides fine second-stage filtration of the air flow through the casing. Two centrifugal blowers (8) disposed within the filter bag (10) draw air through the two filters (6 and 10) and deliver to the outlet aperture (9). From there the filtered air is delivered into the truck cab through an outlet nozzle assembly (11) comprising two directional nozzles (12) of adjustable eyeball type. <IMAGE>
