Abstract

A transformer, particularly for use as a core balance, or differential, transformer for use in earth fault circuit breakers, has a core about which there are disposed interconnected individual turns of insulated solid conductors. The turns 2 at different potentials are soldered or welded together at staggered points 4 on the outside surface of the core so as to enable substantially inflexible, lacquer insulated, conductors to be used for the turns without introducing mechanical stresses on the core which happens when such conductors are wound on a core and which cause impairment of the mechanical properties of the core. <IMAGE>
