Abstract

Fire escape apparatus comprising a holdall and a flexible ladder folded into the holdall, the holdall being such that it consists of separate pieces that are so secured together (e.g. by "touch-and-close" strip fasteners) that they at least partially separate to allow the ladder to unfold when one end of the ladder is secured to an elevated part of a building and the holdall is thrown out of the building. <IMAGE>
