Abstract
A motor speed control system is disclosed having a current limiting circuit appended to the velocity servo, which circuit provides a failsafe capability. This is accomplished by computing for a specific motor the value of the servo voltage (Vs) as a function of the tachometer voltage (Vt) at the maximum desired motor current and providing a clamp for the servo voltage at that value. The clamps circuit (50) comprises resistors and an (ideal diode) circuit designed to produce a maximum voltage even in the tachometer is open circuited. <IMAGE>
