Abstract

A motor vehicle equipped with a power steering system (10), comprises a pressure sensor (26) for sensing the hydraulic pressure for operating the power steering system, and an engine idling speed increasing device (28, 36, 38a) arranged to increase the engine idling speed when the hydraulic pressure of the power steering system exceeds a predetermined level, so that the engine running is prevented from becoming unstable or stalling even at standstill of the vehicle and at very low vehicle speeds. <IMAGE>
