Abstract

An air compressor (14) of the sliding-vane type is mounted as a unit with a driving motor (12) and a cooling section (13) comprising a fan which simultaneously passes cooling air through a cooler (27) for lubricating oil and a cooler (28), Fig. 2 (not shown), for the compressed air. The fan is positioned between the driving motor (12) and the compressor's main casing (16). A block (17) may be used to both support the coolers (27, 28) and interconnect the casing (16) and the motor (12), this block being rigidly secured to a pillar (41). A drain device (38), which ensures that the compressed air is dried before being used, may be incorporated in the apparatus. <IMAGE>
