Abstract
The circuit comprises an operational amplifier 9, a capacitor 8 connected to the + input, a log diode 12 connected between the output 17 and the + input, and a switch 10 connected between the output 17 and the - input. Before exposure, capacitor 8 stores a logarithmically compressed shutter timing signal computed from brightness, film speed and aperture inputs. Upon shutter release, switch 10 opens and capacitor 8 integrates the amplifier output logarithmically expanded by the diode 12. Eventually the output 17 turns off a transistor 18 to de-energize a shutter closing electromagnet 19. The combination 8, 9 thus has the dual function of storage and integration. A second diode 23 provides temperature compensation. <IMAGE>
