Abstract
The disc 1 of a floating caliper disc brake has a pair of circular flanges 1a and 1b upstanding from its opposed faces and adjacent the radially inner part of the swept area of the disc. Should a lining 5a or 6a become detached from its back plate 5b or 6b, the adjacent flange 1a or 1b prevents the separated lining moving radially inwardly out of the caliper, to ensure braking effect still can be obtained. <IMAGE>
