Abstract

A gas containing hydrogen deuteride, HD is produced from a mixture of H2 and D2 by changing them to a bed of activated granules of a metal or alloy which forms a hydride. The H2 and D2 are absorbed, and gas subsequently discharged contains a "statistical" mixture of H2, D2 and HD.
