Abstract

A data retrieval device for selecting a data storage lamina such as a microfiche from either a cylindrical or square prism shaped store has means creating relative movement between the store and a selection device. The selection device has a hold back stop temporarily delaying the passage of a lamina and a detection device reading coding on each delayed lamina when it is released from the hold back stop and withdrawal means which operates when the detection device detects a chosen coded lamina so that the chosen or selected lamina may be withdrawn from the store, the withdrawal means comprising cooperating stop and clamping members <IMAGE>
