Abstract
The preparation of novel azo compounds is described. These compounds are useful in dye diffusion transfer processes. The compounds have the formula:- <IMAGE> in which R1 is a substituted aromatic or heterocyclic group containing a ballasting group, L is either a linking group or a direct link, W is a group which comprises an aromatic or heterocyclic ring and at least one of the groups L and W comprises an active methylene group.
