Abstract

Apparatus and method for testing liquid samples for sterility, in which the samples are fed by gravity through a first conduit which branches into second and third conduits terminating in corresponding test chambers, each test chamber including a main chamber part incorporating a filter, a vacuum pump being provided to draw liquid through the filter and out of the test chamber. A test medium is introduced to each test chamber through an injection site and the test chambers are incubated then inspected for growth of micro-organisms on the filters. <IMAGE>
