Abstract

A low pressure die casting apparatus comprising two spaced furnaces (1, 2) each containing a crucible for molten metal, a riser tube in each furnace extending to an apertured nozzle (4) which is connectable to a die movable along rails to and from each furnace such that the molten metal in the inoperative furnace can be treated, e.g. de-gassed or have oxide removed. The metal is raised from each furnace by gas pressure. <IMAGE>
