Abstract

A radiographic cassette 1 for mammography comprises top and bottom covers 3 and 2, intensifying screens 10 and 11 and X-ray film 12 with at least one of the sides of the members having a portion (8, 9, 13, 14, 15) of curvilinear shape for conforming to the shape of the thorax in the vicinity of which is located the breast to be radiographed. The cassette maybe placed on table 24 and the upper part of the breast pressed against plate 23, the table and plate having suitably curved sides 26 and 27 and being slidably mounted on slide 22. The output of X- ray source 20 is controlled by member 21 which also has a curved side 28. <IMAGE>
