Abstract

A rectilinear pad heater of the type that comprises a plurality of ceramic beads threaded in a staggered formation onto an electric heating wire, is characterised in that each bead 3, Fig. 3, is longitudinally slotted 6 to expose the heating wire 4 to a surface on which the heating pad is placed, and thus increase the heat transference to the surface. The heating wire is covered with calcothar to increase its radiation property. <IMAGE>
