Abstract

A method for producing cryoprecipitate from blood plasma in which the plasma is rapidly frozen by a blast freezing process, is subsequently rapidly thawed and is then held at a predetermined temperature greater than 0 DEG C; and apparatus for producing cryoprecipitate comprising a housing (2), container (42) for blood plasma, means (26) for cooling air within the housing, means (20) for heating air within the housing, fan means, (e.g. 18) for circulating air within the housing and for maintaining the plasma temperature at a first predetermined value and further cooling means (22) co-operating with the heating means (20) for maintaining the plasma temperature precisely at a second predetermined value. <IMAGE>
