Abstract

A mud guard for a motor vehicle incorporates a curved trough (2) and a stratum (3) of filtering material fitted within the trough. The stratum (3) may be spaced from the bottom of the trough so as to leave a space (5) between the stratum and the bottom of the trough. An opening (6) may be formed in the side of the trough, said opening leading from the space (5) between the stratum and the bottom of the trough. Discharge ducts may lead out of the closed ends of the trough to one side of the trough. <IMAGE>
