Abstract

A clamping joint for nested relatively displaceable channel section profiles of the type employed in flexible support frames for mine workings has a half-collar (30) bearing externally against the flange (21) of the outer profile (20) and hook bolts (40) and clamping nuts (45), the shaft (41) of each hook bolt (40) bearing against the adjacent flange (21) of the outer profile (20) and being of greater cross- section than that of the threaded part (43) of the bolt, and each bolt having an extension piece (44) between the shaft and the threaded portion of diameter less than or equal to that of the threaded portion. The centre line (m-m) of the bolt in the threaded part and the extension piece extends substantially parallel to the Y axis of the profile, and the centre line in the region of the shaft (41) has a slight outward deflection away from the axis so as to extend substantially parallel to the inclined flange surface (21) of the outer profile (20). <IMAGE>
