Abstract

Relates to the assembly of a nut 1 on a flange 3, which latter is to be riveted to a light metal sheet which is formed with the necessary rivet holes and bolt hole after it has been varnished. In accordance with the invention the metal of the sheet exposed from the varnish at the edges of the rivet holes and bolt holes is protected by formations 6, 7 surrounding the corresponding apertures in the flange, which are either resilient or contain, in micro- capsules, a corrosion inhibitor or a bonding agent which is released when the formations are deformed. The formations 6, 7 may be on the flange 3 or on a hard plastics layer 8 applied to the flange. <IMAGE>
