Abstract

A support apparatus for a transportable bridge comprises spaced extensible support legs (1) each pivotally mounted on the bridge (7) and including an outer sleeve (2) and an inner sleeve (3), the space therebetween forming a chamber (8) for slidably receiving one end of a tubular plunger (4) having a ground- engaging foot (5). The facing surfaces (9 and 10) of the outer and inner sleeves (2 and 3) provide protected sliding surfaces for the plunger (4) and also the walls of the chamber or space (8) positioned above the plunger (4) which receives a fluid pressure medium. <IMAGE>
