Abstract
A method of refining raw molten metal lead or tin comprises passing the raw molten metal continuously through successive connected reaction paths 11, 12, 13, 14 in which selective refining conditions are maintained and into which solid and/or liquid and/or gaseous reagents are introduced, the reaction products 35 containing the metallic impurities being removed between the individual reaction paths. The invention also includes apparatus suitable for carrying out the method. <IMAGE>
