Abstract

The printing mechanism comprises a printing wheel (11) having a base (22) from whose periphery extend a plurality of angularly spaced apart spring arms (13) each of which is provided with a character (12), the printing wheel (11) having a substantially cylindrical space (22b) within which is mounted at least part of a motor (15) which is arranged to rotate the printing wheel (11) to desired angular positions, the said cylindrical space (22b) being defined by the base (22) alone or by a base (22) and spring arms (13) together. Annular space (22a) may be defined by the arms (13) alone or arms (13) and base (22) together. <IMAGE>
