Abstract

A tubular apparatus 300 includes a central portion 14 and upper and lower portions 16, 18. The central portion 14 has an annular recess 306 so that a reduction in the outer diameter is formed in the position of the recess 306. A seal 304 is present in the recess 306 which stands proud of the outer diameter of the apparatus 300. The central portion 14 may be expanded into sealing engagement with another tubular before the upper and lower portions 16, 18 are expanded.
