Abstract

The invention is concerned with the attachment to a textile tape 2 of a continuous row 1 of fastener members made of a plastics monofilament. Grooves 7 are pressed into the upper arms 5 of the fastener members and have steep side walls receiving looper thread loops 8 of either single needle or two needle double chain stitching 3. Pressing of the grooves also forms projections 11 adjacent the base of the grooves and extending longitudinally of the tape. The stitching straddles these projections thereby locating the fastener members securely transversely of the tape. Sockets may also be formed underneath the grooves so that each upper arm is supported from the corresponding lower arm. <IMAGE>
