Abstract

A constraining device for a spigot and socket coupling between two pipe lengths for limiting relative longitudinal movement between the spigot and socket comprises tie strips 7 connected between the two pipe lengths, which tie strips are so connected to one pipe length that a predetermined lost motion longitudinally of the pipe lengths is permitted between said one pipe length and the tie strips. <IMAGE>
