Abstract

An ink cartridge for an inkjet printer comprises a cartridge body (1), a detection mechanism for detecting the ink cartridge and detecting the residual amount of ink, and a pulling-force generating part (5). The cartridge body comprises an ink storing chamber (11) for storing ink, and an ink discharging port (8). The detection mechanism includes a first detection part (2) matching a first sensor (104) on the printer, a second detection part matching a second sensor (102) on the printer, and a reset part (4). The second detection part comprises a movable lever (6) and a shaft (7) provided on the cartridge body. The movable lever is pivoted to the cartridge via the shaft. The pulling-force generating part generates a pulling force allowing the movable lever to move in a direction opposed to the direction of mounting the ink cartridge. This construction solves a technical problem of detection mistakeï¼ when the ink cartridge is mounted in the printerï¼ caused by gravity of the moveable lever in prior art.
