Abstract

A thermal insulation material suitable for use, or used, subsea comprises a platinum cured silicone resin and up to 45% of a micronised 5 polymer. The cured silicone resin may be formed from a two part resin with the uncured siloxane elements having complementary alkenyl and Si-H moieties. The micronized polymer may be polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), polycarbonate (PC) or polyether ether ketone (PEEK).
