Abstract

A portable renewable energy and rainwater harvesting system, eg for use on construction sites, comprises a rigid transportable frame system 01b with adjustable legs 06a designed to fit securely on top of mobile accommodation units and shipping containers. Within the top of the frame are a solar photovoltaic array 03b, wind turbines 01a and a rainwater collection system. Positioned below the solar array 03b a storage area houses water storage tanks (08a, fig.A) to store the rainwater, eg collected from the solar panels, a battery bank 03a and a plurality of energy control and distribution equipment 02a, 04a, 05a enabling the DC energy generated by the wind turbine 01a and the solar photovoltaic array 03b to be stored in the batteries 03a, converted and distributed as AC power to the host unit.
