Abstract

A wireless terminal and a network apparatus can connect to each other by means of one or more packet connections, i.e. Packet Data Network (PDN) or Packet Data Protocol (PDP) connections. Typically there is a maximum threshold of connections that may be set up with a wireless device. If this threshold is reached, it may not be possible to set up an additional emergency packet connection. In this case, when a wireless terminal requests an emergency packet connection it also transmits a signal to a network apparatus indicating a threshold flag or maximum number of packet connection(s) which the wireless terminal can handle. If the threshold flag indicates the maximum number of connections is reached, the network apparatus initiates deactivation of one or more current packet connections, so that an emergency packet signalling connection and an emergency packet media connection can be established between the wireless terminal and the network apparatus.
