Abstract

The invention presents a footboard for a bed, the footboard 6 configured for housing one or more speakers 2 and comprising one or more outlets 3 and one or more sound deflectors 4 for deflecting sound from one or more speakers to one or more outlets and out of the footboard. The speakers may be positioned such that the front of each speaker lies in a plane substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the footboard and the deflectors may be provided at an angle of at least 45 degrees to the one or more speakers, preferably about 45 degrees. One or more sound deflectors may be provided for each speaker, most preferably one sound deflector for each speaker.
