Abstract
A process for the separation of chemical compounds comprises centrifugal partitioning of at least one compound between a mobile liquid phase and an immiscible stationary liquid phase. At least one of the mobile liquid phase and the stationary liquid phase comprises or consists of an ionic liquid. A liquid-liquid chromatography or liquid-liquid extraction apparatus may be used in the process.
