Abstract
An object tracking apparatus is provided comprising a moveable unit 106; a first image acquisition device, or camera, 102 mounted on the moveable unit; a second image acquisition device 104 mounted on the moveable unit and pointing in substantially the same direction as the first image acquisition device; and a control device 108. The control device is configured to determine, from image data received from the first image acquisition device, positional information of an object represented in the image data to be tracked; and output a control signal to the moveable unit to control its movement and cause the second image acquisition device to track the object in accordance with the determined positional information. The control means might also use information about the relative separation of the first and second cameras.
