Abstract
Disclosed is a method for testing a requirement statement, by first storing the statement in a memory. The requirement statement is then submitted to a grammatical parser which produces a parser output characterising the requirement statement. Then a test artefact rule set is applied to the parser output to determine a test artefact applicable to the requirement statement. The step of applying the test artefact rule set may include applying a testability rule set to determine a test artefact that indicates whether the requirement statement is testable. The method may apply an ambiguity rule set to determine a test artefact that indicates whether the statement is ambiguous with respect to testability, or apply an intent rule set to determine a test artefact that indicates an indent characteristic of the statement, or a category rule set to determine a test artefact that indicates a category characteristic of the statement.
