Abstract

A graphic element (209) for controlling the volume of an audio output signal (203) comprises a volume control (211) and a resizable window (217) representing the dynamic range of the signal. The window may be resized using a pinch or de-pinch gesture on a touch screen device. In operation the volume control (211) has a minimum (301) and a maximum (303) value. The window (217) may be moved between the minimum and maximum value. It may also be resized to set a dynamic range of output between a low (309) and high (307) value.
